Intuitive Shooting Essentials
Intuitive Shooting Essentials
Course Description
This IDS course is designed for students up through intermediate level, including members of the general public, Church Safety Teams, School Resource Officers, and Commissioned Security Officers. It introduces the core principles of the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting Program while intentionally developing those principles into practical, repeatable defensive skills.
Training is structured to build capability step-by-step—starting with foundational concepts, then reinforcing them through progressive drills that improve efficiency, consistency, and confidence. Students learn to work with the body’s natural reactions under stress and learn to apply those responses more effectively during Dynamic Critical Incidents.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply Intuitive Defensive® Shooting fundamentals during a defensive incident.
- Utilize efficient firearm handling under dynamic conditions.
- Understand and implement Counter Ambush concepts with a defensive firearm.
- Demonstrate defensive shooting skills that balance speed, precision, and efficiency.
- Continue practicing and refining fundamental defensive skills independently.
